Navajo Code Talkers: A Journey of Remembrance is a 75-minute film that features interviews by Colburn with six Navajo Code Talkers and younger family members on several Pacific battlefields of World War II. Two days after its Leland screening, Colburn will present the film on Navajo Code Talker Day, August 14, in Window Rock, AZ, the capital of the Navajo Nation.
Dr. George A, Colburn, a resident of Melrose Township in Charlevoix County, is a historian and independent documentary filmmaker for the past 35 years. His programs have been seen nationally on Discovery, Disney, History, and public television networks since 1991. Colburn is also a nationally recognized producer of media-based educational programs for schools and colleges. His latest feature productions being presented at locations around the country include the Navajo Code Talkers, Dwight D. Eisenhower in World War, and Young Hemingway in Michigan.
